Connect Canvas with an access token
- Open Canvas in a browser Sign in to your school’s Canvas site (the same URL you use for classes).
- Open Account → Settings On the left (or profile menu), go to Account, then Settings.
- New Access Token Under Approved Integrations, choose New Access Token. Give it a name like “GPAce” and create it.
- Copy the token once Canvas shows the full token only once. Paste it into GPAce before leaving the page.
- Import in the app In GPAce, open the Canvas tab, find your school, paste the token, and sync.
You can revoke the token anytime in Canvas → Account → Settings → Approved Integrations. GPAce stores the token on your device only.
FAQ
Yes. Adding and editing courses by hand does not require Pro.
Pro is a one-time $9.99 purchase that unlocks Canvas sync (importing and refreshing courses from your school’s Canvas). It is not a subscription. After you unlock, you still need to connect Canvas with an access token before any school courses sync.
Finding your school in the list is not the same as connecting. GPAce only syncs after you unlock Pro and paste a Canvas access token (or complete sign-in). Until then, Force Sync and auto-sync won’t pull grades.
Open Settings in GPAce and use Restore Purchases (signed in with the same Apple ID). If it still fails, email us with the approximate purchase date.
Email support@gpaceapp.org with your school name and Canvas login URL. We can review adding it.
Create a fresh access token in Canvas and paste it again. Confirm you copied the full token and that your school URL matches the campus you signed into. If your school blocks third-party API access, sync may not work until they allow it.
No. GPAce uses a Canvas access token you create — not your Canvas password. See the Privacy Policy.
If you enable notifications in Settings and allow permission, GPAce can alert you when a sync finds a newly posted or changed assignment score. You can turn this off anytime.
